School Meals
The school has an excellent kitchen where children can enjoy a freshly prepared set meal each day. These meals are free for all children in Reception and Key Stage 1 under the Universal Infant Free School Meal initiative, and cost £2.80 per meal for Key Stage 2.
School meals should be booked and paid for in advance using My Child At School (MCAS), our online payment system. Please note that we are unable to accept cash or cheques. For your convenience, you can choose and pay for your child’s meals several weeks in advance if preferred.
Aspens
Give our school meals a try! We are passionate about serving fresh, high quality and locally sourced ingredients in our meals. We have a team of experienced and creative chefs that keep our menus exciting and tasty for your child to enjoy. Many of the team at Aspens have school children themselves and as parents, we understand how important making the lunch decision is. You want to make sure that they eat at lunchtime, what they have is nutritionally balanced and that it fuels the rest of their learning day.
We operate a three-week menu cycle to work in line with the school terms. We change the menu in September, January and at Easter and we take the feedback from our customers to build our next cycle. Popular dishes remain but we do like to encourage new tastes and dishes and we work hard with the children to help them on their food journey. Our primary offer is fun and colourful and we use our Bubble and Squeak characters to communicate the daily choice. Our menu is varied and well planned to ensure the right balance of colour is present on the counters and we provide taster pots to encourage children to try something they are unsure of.
How we display our food gives the younger students a more grown up dining experience.
All children that are in reception, year 1 and year 2 are entitled to receive UNIVERSAL FREE SCHOOL MEALS! We think it’s a fantastic idea so please make sure you support this initiative. Not only will you be saving money, but you will also be giving your child a nutritionally balanced meal to fuel their bodies for the rest of their learning day.
Pupils with special dietary requirements
We will be in contact with parents and carers of pupils with special dietary needs.
